Destination of Berhala Island - Seeing Sea Turtles is one of Indonesia's Outer Islands

Visiting the island of Berhala is not only treated to natural scenery and historical relics of Lingga.

Like, clean beach sand, the beauty offered is white sand, clear blue water and beautiful coral reefs under the sea. This island is also a turtle rearing area with an area of ​​around 2.5 km.

If the time is right, especially at the end or the beginning of the year, visitors can watch sea turtles pull over and lay eggs around the beach. At the beginning and end of the year, turtles will come to the island and lay their eggs to breed. So that during the rainy season, the best time to see the life of sea turtles.
Behind the beauty, Berhala Island is also one of the historical areas of the royal era first. According to historical records, the name of an idol taken from the son of a king in Turkey is Paduka Berhalo or Akhmad Barus II.

To watch turtles lay eggs, tourists can rent a small motor boat or "pompong" with a travel time of 15 minutes.

Berhala Island has adequate facilities, but don't expect starred resorts. This island is suitable for those who want to enjoy the sensation of returning to nature, adventure in the outer islands of Indonesia under the hood.

For that, be sure to choose a location that is high enough. Do not get too close to the beach because it will be submerged in high tides. There are also several pavilion and buildings that can be used for sleeping.

Berhala Island is also equipped with several facilities, such as power plants, gazebos, wooden docks, the main pavilion for gathering places or meeting points.

In total there are 16 inns or home stays and food stalls. However, existing home stays do not provide beds, so visitors are advised to bring their own sleeping bags.

Transportation to Berhala Island
From Jambi airport, we can reach Berhala Island via Village Laut or Nipah Panjang.

The village is a gateway to Pulau Berhala. From Nipah Panjang, heading to Pulau Berhala takes about 1.5 hours using a rented boat with varying prices.

If from Kampung Laut, the duration of the trip is 2.5 hours from Jambi airport, then proceed by speedboat with a travel time of 1.5 hours.
